Creative art workshops in a relaxed café setting

Café Art is a typical expression of the partnership between Sawyers Church and Frontline.

Our Wednesday Creative Sensory Art runs alongside Crown Café and welcomes people with a learning disability, enabling them to express their creativity through simple techniques such as blending colours and using collage and textures, in a relaxed and friendly environment. Café Art is led by a gifted and experienced art tutor.

Wednesdays during school term time. Two sessions are available
10:00AM to 12:00PM and
12:45PM to 2:30PM
To book, call: 07511 824170

Please note that while Sawyers Church is being rebuilt, Café Art is currently based at the Sion Centre.

Sensory Art Spectacular 2023

During August 2023, Café Art held our annual "Sensory Art Spectacular" exhibition in the Becket Gallery, Brentwood library. It helps to promote the confidence of everyone taking part and gain them an appreciation of what they can do. Thank you to the Camellia Foundation for funding the art group this year.

You can also read more and listen to our Phoenix FM piece about the exhibition HERE (listen from 51:58).

Royal Academy Trip 2022

In the August 2022, we took the train to London to visit the exciting Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. The art was stunning and gave us lots of ideas for next term. Afterwards we enjoyed our picnic in Green Park. Here are some photos of our exciting day out!
