Actability presents high quality touring theatre
and inclusive drama workshops
Actability is an inclusive theatre company working in Hertfordshire and Essex. In partnership with Frontline and Hollytrees School, the company brings together adults with a learning disability and Year-5 children to create theatre work. Five members of the company co-facilitate weekly drama sessions with the Actability/Frontline team at the school, resulting in contributions to events such as the ‘East Meets West’ festival at Weald Park and the school’s Christmas performance of ‘Alice in Wonderland’.
Whilst providing opportunities for interactive group-work for 30 children, Actability team members are also building their own self-confidence and skills. They are promoting a positive perception of disability amongst the younger generation and acceptance and inclusion for all.
Actability and Frontline are actively seeking funding to extend this work to other schools.
